Spraying for a Change: The Impact of Street Art on the World
A thesis by Brennan Moores

projects.

abstract.

Street art is perhaps one of the most overlooked and underappreciated elements of a city. Whether people like it or not, it is part of the culture and community of the city in which it resides. People generally misunderstand street art as egregious vandalism that serves no purpose than to be rebellious and cause an eyesore. But in the end, street art is actually more important than the general public thinks, spreading messages that normal art does not, with famous artists being Banksy and Keith Haring. Street art illuminates communities around the world and raises awareness better than any other method.

five questions.

1. What is the difference between street art and graffiti?

2. How does street art fit into the traditional definition of art?

3. How is Banksy one of the best street artists?

4. How is street art important to raising social awareness?

5. What is the process of creating street art?
